WhatsApp is both a blessing and a curse.
You can keep in touch with your nearest and dearest daily (without paying text message premiums), but it’s also another outlet via which people can let you know what they’re having for tea, whether you like it or not.
A few years ago, we decided it would be a nice idea to start a family WhatsApp group – the FamChat – which includes my sisters, Lora and Steph, and my mum (Stella). From what I recall, it was at a time when none of us lived particularly close to each other, and it was a good way of sharing updates, including what we’d had/were going to have for tea…
We do talk about other things too. Namely:
- Other people
- Pets
- Manicures
- Mum’s crafting habits
- My grandad – who moved in with my mum and aunt Lilian last year (and the chaos that brings…)
To celebrate a brand-new year, I’ve collated a selection of highlights from the FamChat over the past year. Primarily because I find it thoroughly entertaining, and this is my space to share that which I find entertaining.
When mum and Steph paid me back…
Miley face 🙂 …
When Lora turned herself into a box of eggs…

When mum and Lilian finally captured and released the field mouse that had been brought in by the cat, and was running riot in the living room furniture…
When mum became self-conscious about her neck…
When Steph and her fiance bought an old house for renovation…

When mum’s Buffy marathon was interrupted by grandad probs…
When mum started watching Buffy out of sequence and felt our collective disappointment…

There are no words, but I agree we are FABULOUS.
